Blues Traveler brought their annual Fourth of July performance to Red Rocks yesterday with a performance that featured plenty of BT classics, covers and sit ins from a range of special guests throughout the night.

John Popper and company got things started with a “Cara Let the Moon” (which would bookend the performance at the end of the set as well) before covering Sublime’s hit “What I Got” with bassist Oteil Burbridge, who was in the area with Dead & Company over the weekend, and Uncle Kracker. Burbridge stayed onstage after for a bass jam before departing.

After the obligatory “Star Spangled Banner,” the band welcomed out the duo Thompson Square, who were featured on Blues Traveler’s most recent album Blow Up the Moon. The couple helped out on “Matador” and “I Can Still Feel You.”

The set also featured a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” and hits like “Run-Around” and “Hook” before the band returned to the stage for a “Brother John” encore that featured guitarist Eric Krasno and a cameo from Sam Palladio, who came out and played tambourine on the tune.
