The inaugural HeadCount Convention Jam will feature performances from Grace Potter, Moon Taxi and Dawes in the host citiies for the Democratic and Republican Conventions.

First up, Moon Taxi will play at the House of Blues in Cleveland on July 18 as the Republican National Convention opens in Ohio. Representatives Marsha Blackburn and Mike McCaul will serve as the event’s congressional hosts for that evening.

The following week, when the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Philadelphia, Grace Potter and Dawes will both perform late night sets at the Electric Factory. Representatives from California, Vermont and Maryland will all attend along with Sen. Al Franken.

“The Convention Jams are meant to celebrate how music promotes voting and civic participation,” HeadCount co-chair and Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein told Billboard. “I’m very excited to host Grace and Dawes in my home town, and show Convention attendees on both sides of the aisle that we really know how to throw a party.”
