Warren Haynes is leading the traveling Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration this summer, and now he has announced a special guest for the stop at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre: Garcia’s longtime friend and bandmate in JGB, Melvin Seals.

Seals will join Haynes and the Colorado Symphony when they play the legendary amphitheater on August 1, which would’ve been Garcia’s 74th birthday. The Celebration features an array of Garcia tunes, including those from the Grateful Dead, along with standards that were frequently in the late musician’s repertoire.

More information on the Red Rocks show is available here. Haynes recently talked to Relix about the traveling symphonic tribute in an article that can be read here.

Seals has also been announced as a special guest with Stella Blue’s Band when the band brings its Grateful Dead tribute act to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, on August 7. More information on that show is available here.
