The next installment in the GarciaLive recording series has been announced as a rare, previously unreleased and uncirculated Jerry Garcia Band show from 1976. The show was discovered recently by former Grateful Dead vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux as part of a collection of recordings known as the “Houseboat Tapes.”

GarciaLive Volume Seven: November 8th, 1976 is taken from a concert at Sophie’s in Palo Alto, CA, where the JGB played four times that year (the venue eventually become the Keystone Palo Alto). Along with Garcia, the band for the show included Godchaux on backing vocals and her husband Keith on keyboards, former Elvis drummer Ron Tutt and bassist John Kahn. The night’s setlist included covers like “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” “Stir It Up” and “After Midnight and Garcia songs like “Friend of the Devil” and “Mission in the Rain.”

Pre-orders for GarciaLive Volume Seven are now available here. Listen to the premiere of “After Midnight” from the album over at Relix.
