As previously reported, HeadCount’s Convention Jam in Cleveland last night was supposed to be headlined by Nashville outfit Moon Taxi, but the band backed out of the performance citing that it was “no longer a nonpartisan statement” for them. Taking their place for the evening was sacred steel master Robert Randolph and his Family Band.

As viewable in the video above, which comes from a Facebook live feed off HeadCount’s page, Randolph was introduced by HeadCount Director Andy Bernstein, who first detailed his organizations goal of using music to bring people together and get all music fans registered to vote

Bernstein also noted what a treat it was to see Randolph in a close-quarters venue like the room at Cleveland’s House of Blues before the band came out and kicked off the performance with a tight-knit jam. Watch the video above.
