Deer Tick have announced they will screen their William Miller-directed documentary, Straight Into a Storm, as part of this weekend’s Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.

The film is centered around Deer Tick’s 10th anniversary run at Brooklyn Bowl in 2014, with each of six nights featuring a different artist theme. The band performed full albums from The Beatles, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, Devo and more throughout the run and played a fan-chosen setlist on New Year’s Eve. The documentary also features interviews with the band and others, including Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith, Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin and more, telling the story of Deer Tick from the beginning.

Straight Into a Storm has an ongoing PledgeMusic campaign and will see its first preview screening at Newport on July 24. The preview will be followed by a conversation with director Miller and the band’s manager Zeke Hutchins. More information is available here.
