Following a set at Newport Folk Festival, Ryan Adams played a solo show at the Capitol Theatre last night that turned into another collaboration between The Infamous Stringdusters, Nicki Bluhm and the Jacksonville, NC singer-songwriter.

Among the highlights from the 22-song set include an opening take on Slayer’s “South of Heaven” as well as some Adams rarities like “If I Am a Stranger,” “Tears of Gold” and “The End” with the whole ensemble before Adams himself took the time to debut a few newer cuts.

Adams commented he’d “been working on a bunch of new songs” and wanted to play a few solo. The solo segment included new songs “To Be Without You,” “Haunted House” and “Tightrope” to go along with older tunes “I Do Not Feel Like Being Good” and “Firecracker” before Adams welcomed opener Amanda Shires out for Whiskeytown’s “Jacksonville Skyline,” which Shires added fiddle and vocals to.

The rest of the show was highlighted by lesser played tunes like the Cardinals’ “Trains,” the 29 cut “Carolina Rain” and Black Sabbath’s “The Wizard” before the “Come Pick Me Up” encore.

Here’s a look at the setlist:
