Due to the Soberanes Fire in Big Sur, CA, the Woodsist Fest will be moved to Point Reyes, CA as the state parks in Big Sur close today, making it unsafe for the festival to go on as planned at the location.

“Much thought went into this decision but ultimately it is the right thing to do as we send our collective prayers to the community of Big Sur at this very difficult time,” a statement from the festival’s organizers read. Everything else about the festival will go on as planned, including the two days of music with hosts Woods as well we Kevin Morby, Steve Gunn, White Fence, Jessica Pratt and others.

The Soberanes Fire has grown to 10,262 acres and is just 5% contained, with over 20 homes already lost and another 1,000 currently threatened. Various highways and parks in the area have been closed as a precaution and authorities issued an evacuation warning over the weekend. The fire sparked on 8:30 AM on July 22 and is expected to be contained by July 31.
