As the new supergroup Prophets of Rage are making their voices heard during the Republican and Democratic Conventions, drummer Brad Wilk has hinted at a possible reunion for another supergroup, Audioslave, which, like PoR, featured members of Rage Against the Machine, along with vocalist Chris Cornell.

Cornell started fronting the band in 2001, taking over RATM frontman duties after Zack de la Rocha left the band the previous year. The band, which included Cornell, Wilk, Tom Morello and Tim Commerford, eventually called themselves Audioslave and made three albums together. In a recent interview with Alternative Nation on Prophets of Rage, Wilk was asked about Morello, Commerford and his relationship with Cornell, to which Wilk responded, “I love Chris Cornell,” and called the singer an “amazing musician and a good person.” The drummer went on to say that an Audioslave reunion is definitely a possibility.

“Absolutely, the possibility of us making music together with Chris is always there,” Wilk says. “I don’t think anyone has any bad feelings towards each other in that band. I think that band had a really good run, and I think that it was time for us to move on, and that’s exactly what happened.”
