Reed Mathis’ Electric Beethoven project will make their live debut on August 2 at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA, just days before they participate in Outside Lands’ GastroMagic stage.

In a Facebook announcement, Mathis notes that this will be the “only chance to perform in the Bay Area for a while” as they dub the upcoming performances the “Acid Tests” in the vein of the early days of the Grateful Dead.

“Nearly 150 years before the Grateful Dead got their wings at the Electric Kool Aid Acid Tests, Ludwig Van Beethoven aced his own with flying colors… musically speaking, of course,” the announcement read before adding, “history repeats itself.”
