Earlier this week, Woods hosted their seventh annual Woodsist festival in Point Reyes, CA. The event was moved from its original location in Big Sur due to dangerous ongoing fires in the area.

The host band headlined the fest and played a set featuring several special guests and many of the band’s songs from this year’s City Sun Eater in the River of Light like “Morning Light,” “Sun City Creeps,” “Politics of Free,” “Hollow Home” and more, along with some older favorites like “Cali in a Cup” and “Moving to the Left.”

On the band’s cover of Graham Nash’s “Military Madness,” former Woods bassist Kevin Morby reunited with the band, while Ultimate Painting’s Jack Cooper added vocals and Alex Bleeker sat in on tambourine and backing vocals. Bleeker’s band Real Estate have a long relationship with Woods, and the bassist recently moved to the Bay Area.

Bleeker’s own set at the festival included a lineup of “Friends” that included Northern California locals Jeff Manson, Danny Vitali and Ayal Lutwak. Kyle Field of Little Wings also joined the group for Bleeker’s cover of Little Wings’ “Faith Children,” which appears on Bleeker’s new solo release.
