Warren Haynes will bring his Jerry Garcia Symphinic Celebration to New York’s Central Park Summerstage series on August 8, and he will be joined for the event with guitarist Eric Krasno and keyboardist Marco Benevento, along with another special guest.

Haynes will be playing Garcia’s own Tiger guitar for the celebration. The instrument was made custom for Garcia by luthier Doug Irwin and came into the guitarist’s rotation in 1979 and stuck around throughout the ’80s and into the ’90s, including an appearance at Garcia’s final performance with the Grateful Dead in Chicago on July 9, 1995. Tiger’s current owner, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, is lending the instrument for the occasion.

Krasno and Benevento will play with Haynes and company for an extended encore to the evening. While the after-set music won’t include the orchestra, the band will be playing improvisations around Garcia’s extensive catolog.
