Former alumni of Jefferson Airplane and Starship have formed a new group, dubbed The Airplane Family, and the collective will take to the road with Live Dead 69 for a run of dates this December.

The new band is comprised of The Great Society co-founder Darby Slick, brother-in-law to Grace Slick and songwriter of the Jefferson Airplane classic “Somebody to Love,” Peter Kaukonen of Hot Tuna and Jefferson Starship and brother to Jorma Kaukonen, former Starship drummer Prairie Prince and Starship guitarist Slick Aguilar. The group will be joined by vocalists Eva Avila and Joli Valenti.

Also on the tour will be Dead 69, featuring pianist Tom Constanten and former RatDog guitarist Mark Karan, performing 1969’s Live Dead in its entirety. See the tour dates below.
