The String Cheese Incident were set to play a show with Gregg Allman at the upcoming Peach Fest in Pennsylvania, but due to “serious health issues,” Allman was forced to cancel several tour dates, including his slots at Peach.

While the Gregg Allman Incident will not take place at the festival, SCI keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth posted a video on his Facebook yesterday wishing Allman well and saying how much he’s enjoyed learning the legendary songwriter’s music in preparation for Peach Fest.

Hollingsworth noted the past Incident collaborations, including last year’s Doobie Brothers mashup at Lockn’ Festival, and played a bit of Allman’s “Melissa,” which he calls “so beautiful” and “a really well-written song” before walking through some of his favorite chord progressions and changes in the tune.

“We’re thinking of you, Gregg,” Hollingsworth says. “Hope you’re doing better. We hope to see you out there soon. But meanwhile, I’m totally enjoying all the songs that you’ve written over the years, and the process of learning them has been great for me. Thank you.” Watch the full video above.
