Nicole Atkins has announced she will be recording her new album this month, and the singer-songwriter has launched a PledgeMusic campaign for fans to support the production of the record and receive special perks in return.

Atkins is recording the record at Niles City Sound in Texas with former White Denim members Austin Jenkins and Josh Block, along with Chris Vivion, all of whom contributed to the production of Leon Bridges’ Grammy-winning debut Coming Home. The PledgeMusic campaign for the album includes private shows, dinner and Skype sessions with Atkins, plus exclusive merchandise and memorabilia and much more, even the opportunity to be listed as an executive producer on the album. See the campaign website and intro video here.

Atkins will also be sharing videos throughout the recording process. According to her, “A lot of the songs on the new album deal with loneliness, newfound love, heartache, drinking too much, growing up, moving away and changing. All those challenges that I, like I’m sure a lot of you, have had to deal with at one time or another.”

Atkins will be debuting a new song from the album on the season finale of Showtime’s Roadies series on August 28. The song, called “A Little Crazy,” was co-written with Chris Isaak. Atkins will be supported by guitarist Scott Metzger on the show, which will also feature guest spots from Jim James, Eddie Vedder, Lucius, Gary Clark Jr., Jackson Browne and Robyn Hitchcock.
