The Americana Music Association has announced some highlights of the panels, workshops and more that will take place during its six-day AmericanaFest in Nashville next month. Topping the list of events is an exclusive acoustic performance and Q&A with Bob Weir, previewing his upcoming solo release, Blue Mountain, the guitarist’s first work of all-new solo material in 30 years.

Weir will present fans with a similar format to his intimate album preview in New York City earlier this month, with a mixture of album track playbacks and live acoustic numbers with album producer and co-songwriter Josh Kaufman, plus a Q&A moderated by Nashville singer-songwriter Buddy Miller. The appearance comes before Weir kicks off his short October tour in support of Blue Mountain.

Also included in the AmericanaFest schedule are a keynote address from T Bone Burnett, a tribute to Woody Guthrie from Del McCoury Band, Billy Bragg and Joe Henry talking about Allen Toussaint with Barry Mazor, an interview with Dwight Yoakam on his new bluegrass album, two NPR installments: a “Songs We Love: Americana Edition” with Margo Price and Bob Boilen speaking with the Civil Wars’ John Paul White, a career-spanning conversation with Wanda Jackson and much more.

AmericanaFest will take place September 20–25. Ticketing and more information is available here.
