Reed Mathis’ “classical dance music” project, Electric Beethoven, has announced they will make their New York City debut during the second annual Brooklyn Comes Alive on October 22, becoming the latest collaboration announced for the one-day, three-venue mini-festival.

Mathis recently announced the first album of Electric Beethoven music, Beathoven, which is set for release on September 30 and features the likes of Phish’s Mike Gordon and Page McConnell, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, Stanton Moore and more joining Mathis on reimaginings of Beethoven’s music with a modern, dancy feel and extended improvisations. The live version of the project features Mathis on bass, Jay Lane and Cochrane McMillan on drums, Todd Stoops on keys and Clay Welch on guitar.

Brooklyn Comes Alive will also feature the live debut of the All Brothers Band, a collaboration between Alan and Neal Evans and Oteil and Kofi Burbridge, and Breaking Biscuits, a mashup featuring members of Break Science and The Disco Biscuits. More collaborations are expected to be announced soon.
