Legendary singer-songwriter David Crosby will release his new solo record, Lighthouse, on on October 21 via GroundUP/Verve, and today, NPR has premiered a new track from the album, “The City.”

Lighthouse was produced and partially co-written by Snarky Puppy’s Michael League, who had the original idea for this song, which is Crosby’s love letter to New York. “He said he wanted to write a song about ‘New York as a woman,’” Crosby told NPR.
