Umphrey’s McGee marked their return to Chicago with a one-set show at North Coast Music Festival that saw them welcome a few special friends and confirm that they will bring their New Year’s Run back to Chicago for the first time since 2010.

As for the show, the group walked out to Alan Parsons Project’s “Sirius” and jammed around the tune. “Sirius” was most famously used as the intro for the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan years. A few songs later, the band welcomed out Greensky’s Anders Beck to jam on “Glory” which emerged out of “In the Kitchen.”

In the encore, Jen Hartswick joined the group for the mashup “Electric Avenue to Hell” which combines AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” and Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue,” not played since its debut in 2013 during the band’s Halloween run in Milwaukee.
