Bear Creek Bayou will come to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras World on September 30–October 1, and the festival has announced a couple of special after-parties featuring all-star lineups of New Orleans-tinged funk music.

First, on September 30, The Floozies will team up with keyboardist John Medeski, saxophonists Skerik and Ryan Zoidis and Lettuce guitarist Erick “Jesus” Coomes to present “Funk Court” at Republic NOLA. Tickets are available here.

On October 1, the after-party shifts to The Howlin’ Wolf for a tribute to late keyboardist Bernie Worrell, who passed away earlier this year. Artists set to play the event include Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan and Ian Neville and Nick Daniels, along with Nigel Hall, The Nth Power’s Nikki Glaspie, Sam Williams, Lettuce’s Shady Horns Ryan Zoidis and Benny Bloom and Trey Anastasio Band’s Jen Hartswick. Tickets are available here.
