Over the weekend, the annual Blues Views & BBQ Festival came to Westport, CT, with a lineup that featured the Funky Meters, Anders Osborne, Popa Chubby, The Revivalists and more, bringing the spirit and music of New Orleans to the Northeast.

Headliners the Funky Meters, the last iteration of legendary funk pioneers The Meters, played a set of favorites that featured a couple special guests in Soulive/Lettuce guitarist Eric Krasno and singer-songwriter Marc Broussard. The band, which usually consists of original Meters members George Porter Jr. and Art Neville, along with guitarist Brian Stoltz and drummer Terrence Houston, was without Neville for the night, welcoming instead Michael Lemmier, keyboardist for Porter’s Runnin’ Pardners.

Krasno joined the band for much of the show, while Broussard came out for a couple tunes to close out the set, as the vocalist lent his talents to a run of Meters hits “Ain’t No Use” and “Fire On the Bayou.” Watch a video of that performance above, along with a clip of “Funky Miracle” into “Funkify Your Life” below, courtesy of YouTube user InnovAsianTravel.
