Yesterday, Phish announced that they will release their new album, Big Boat on October 7, and now a bit more information about the effort has surfaced in Rolling Stone‘s fall music preview
In the piece, one track on Big Boat is revealed to be “Miss You,” a Trey Anastasio ballad that Phish debuted earlier this summer at June 25 stop at Chicago’s Wrigley Field. Anastasio apparently wrote the tune “about a personal loss,” and other Phish members wrote songs about “the twists and turns of life” for the album.
“There’s definitely a point of view to this one,” Anastasio tells Rolling Stone. “We’re old enough to have a healthy respect for mortality.”
