Showtime’s Roadies, the Cameron Crowe-helmed series that premiered this year and followed the life and drama of a fictional band of behind-the-scenes crew members, has been canceled after finishing up its first season recently, TVLine confirmed today.

Roadies starred Luke Wilson and Cara Gugino and featured guest spots from several musicians, including Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Nicole Atkins and Scott Metzger and more, but never garnered high enough ratings.

Crowe addressed the cancelation in a statement today, thanking Showtime and the cast of the show and calling the production a “life-changing experience for all of us.”

“My mind is still spinning from the giddy highs of working with this epic cast and crew,” Crowe writes. “Though we could tell a thousand more stories, this run ends with a complete ten-hour tale of music and love. Like a song that slips under your skin, or a lyric that keeps speaking to you, we hope the spell of Roadies lingers.”
