Last night, Sammy Hagar hosted a benefit for the Kiddo Endowment, an organization that raises money for teachers in Bay Area schools, at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, and venue proprietor Bob Weir sat in with his old friend during the event.

As can be seen in the video below, which was shared on Deadheadland’s Facebook page, Weir joined Hagar for an acoustic run of “Loose Lucy,” which was a favorite of the Grateful Dead and which has been played by the duo previously, including once with Michael Franti. The video also shows Hagar playing with longtime collaborator Vic Johnson.

Weir and Hagar have a long history, and the two always seem to have fun sharing the stage. Hagar even played with Jerry Garcia for a show in 1989, and he’s said previously that Weir and Mickey Hart at one point wanted Hagar to join the Grateful Dead.
