In October and November, Tom Hamilton’s American Babies are throwing a series of masquerade balls to go along with their tour dates in support of their latest record, An Epic Battle Between Light and Dark, and each of the four select shows will see the band take on a musical mask of their own.

The first Masquerade Ball of Light & Dark will bring the music of Radiohead to Boulder, CO’s Fox Theatre on October 22, while their show at Chicago’s Tonic Room on October 29 will feature songs from The Beatles. The band will move to New York’s American Beauty on November 5 to play David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, and the balls will round out on November 19 with a show at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, featuring covers of Grateful Dead tunes. The band will also play a two-set concert at Sweetwater on November 18.

Fans attending these shows are asked to wear black and white and don appropriate masquerade masks. As Hamilton explains, “A group of our fans in Rhode Island organized a group of people to wear masks similar to the characters from the cover of our Epic Battle album cover to a show, and we just loved it. It was super cool to play to an audience that was dressed up like that, and we wanted to expand on the concept.”

Tickets for the Sweetwater shows go on sale tomorrow, September 28 at noon PT, and the rest of the dates are on sale now. More tour and ticketing information is available here.
