Greensky Bluegrass and Fruition rounded out their run of dates over the weekend with a two-night run at Higher Ground in Burlington, VT, filled with sit ins, covers, mashups and plenty of jamgrass action.

On Friday, Fruition opened up the run with a set that featured Greensky’s Anders Beck for “I Don’t Mind” and “Labor of Love” before the headliners kicked off their two-set performance with two live debuts from their brand new Shouted, Written Down & Quoted album, “Run or Die” and “Room Without a Roof.” Later in the first set, the band brought out Fruition’s Mimi Naja for “Wings for Wheels” and “Worried About the Weather.” The second set featured a guest spot from Naja’s bandmate Tyler Thompson, who came out for “Jaywalking” and returned to the stage for an encore cover of Rayland Baxter’s “Yellow Eyes.”

Night two started out with another opening set from Fruition, who ended up welcoming Greensky engineer Greg Burns out to lend his vocals on “Santa Fe.” Greensky’s then headlined with another two sets, kicking it off with three Shouted tracks, “Past My Prime,” “Hold On” and “More of Me,” the latter two of which were live debuts for the band. Greensky also worked some teases and mashups into the set, putting in a bit of Phish’s “Runaway Jim” into “Handle with Care” and sticking Jimi Hendrix’s “Wind Cries Mary” into “Broke Mountain Breakdown.”

Saturday’s set number two also started out with a few tracks from the new album, along with Dire Strait’s “Money for Nothing.” The band was later joined by all of Fruition for the three-song closing run of “There She Was,” a Fruition original, “Demons” and “Frederico.” The run was then rounded out with an encore mashup of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” along with Thompson and his Fruition bandmates Jay Cobb Anderson and Kellen Asebroek.
