Next weekend, Roger Waters will join a group of legendary musicians for the first weekend of Indio, CA’s Desert Trip, and this week, the Pink Floyd icon played a couple warmup shows in Mexico City and was joined by Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius, who will also provide backing vocals for Waters in Indio.

The first of the shows featured two songs that Waters had never played solo live before, Pink Floyd’s “One of These Days” and “Fearless,” while last night’s show featured a similar solo debut in “Pigs On the Wing 2.”

As Billboard notes, the first night also saw Waters speak out against the Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto for the many disappearances and deaths under his term related to the drug trade in the country. Waters also had some words for Donald Trump, denouncing the wall that the presidential nominee has proposed between the US and Mexico. “We don’t want a wall that separates us from our sister, our mother earth, or from each other,” Waters said.
