Gov’t Mule and Blackberry Smoke wrapped up their collaborative tour in Charlotte with a stop at the Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre and much like they did on their lengthy run together in August, the encore featured a collaboration between the two bands.

Before Mule and Smoke teamed up in the encore, Warren Haynes and the band brought out past collaborators Craig Sorrells and Mike Barnes for a cover of the classic funk tune “Doing It To Death” by Fred Wesley and The J.B.‘s.

For the encore, it was Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr and Brandon Still teaming with Sorrells and Mule for a cover of “Cortez the Killer” before a finale of Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon” that also saw Barnes once again join in.

Mule’s tour continues tonight in Rocky Mount, VA.
