Earlier this year, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood revealed that the band was readying a new album for this year, one that would be blues-centered and feature “extremely great covers of Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter, among other people.” Now, the Stones’ website has teased some news coming this week.

The site simply reads, “Coming October 6,” which is accompanied by a 10-second teaser clip of band members in the studio with a bluesy soundtrack of guitar and harmonica, a sound that harkens back to the Stones’ early days and their 1964 debut self-titled album. Watch the clip below.

The Stones also played a surprise set last night during the Freightliner customer appreciation dinner at Las Vegas’ American Trucking Association’s annual Management Conference & Exhibition, as Transport Topics reports. The band played a 14-song set that featured Stones classics like “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and an encore of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Frontman Mick Jagger had some kind words for his trucking industry hosts and reportedly “named several Freightliner truck models, saying they were great for taking the family on a Sunday afternoon drive.” The surprise show serves as a warmup for the next two weekends, when the band will join the likes of Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Who and Roger Waters at Desert Trip in Indio, CA.
