Bob Weir rounded out the opening California swing of his Campfire Tour in support of his new solo album, Blue Mountain last night at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, and the Grateful Dead guitarist was joined by two special guests in guitarist John Mayer and The National vocalist Matt Berninger.

Mayer, who plays with Weir in Dead & Company, first came out for “Jack Straw” near the middle of the second set, and the guitarist stayed on throughout most of remainder the show. Berninger lent his vocals to “Morning Dew,” and “I Know You Rider” to end the second set. Berninger and The National recently recorded “Morning Dew” for the Grateful Dead tribute album Day of the Dead.

For the encore, Weir started out solo with Blue Mountain track “Ki-Yi Bossie” before Mayer and Berninger returned to the stage for “Peggy-O,” which Berninger has played several times with The National and recorded for Day of the Dead, and the show-closing “Ripple.” Watch video highlights from the sit ins above and below.

Weir’s tour, which features his backing band of Blue Mountain producer Josh Kaufman along with Steve Kimock, Jon Shaw and The National’s Bryan and Scott Devendorf, now switches coasts and will continue at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA, tomorrow night.
