Bob Weir kicked off the East Coast swing of his Campfire tour last night, playing at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA. The show was filled with cuts from Weir’s new solo album, classic Weir covers and a special appearance from Joe Russo and Tom Hamilton.

The first set featured mostly Blue Mountain songs, while the second frame opened up with two tunes from classic songwriters, first Kris Kristofferson’s “Me and Bobby McGee” then Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried.” After a few Grateful Dead favorites like “Althea” and “Playing in the Band,” Weir returned to the stage for a two-song encore that started with his own “Ki-Yi Bossie” before he welcomed two Almost Dead members in drummer Russo, with whom Weir played in Furthur, and Hamilton. The collective closed out the show with a rousing “Not Fade Away.” Watch a video of the performance above.

Weir continues his tour this weekend with a two-night run at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on October 14–15.
