New Orlean’s outfit Big Sam’s Funky Nation is on tour, and the group rolled through Las Vegas this week only to hit a rough patch just as the run was beginning, as some of the band’s instruments were stolen from their tour van, including the trombone of leader Big Sam, Nola.com reports.

“Every now & then, you’re so exhausted after a show, u get lazy & leave your instruments in your vehicle,” the band wrote in a caption to a Facebook photo of the broken-into van. “Even tho they were well hidden under the seats… we got GOT in Vegas! smh… Trombone, Bass, & Guitar. We’re looking for them now. Wish us luck.”

The group’s manager says that Big Sam’s favorite Krewe du Optics sunglasses were also stolen. Luckily, the musician got a temporary replacement trombone courtesy of Kansas City-based BAC Music Center, who posted a picture of the instrument on Instagram, saying, “We hate hearing when an artist has their horn stolen… But we will always bend over backwards to help out our B.A.C. Family!!!”
