Foo Fighters returned from their hiatus for a charity gig in Los Angeles over the weekend. The band welcomed out numerous special guests throughout, playing tunes by themselves and acting as somewhat of a house band for the show.

Among them, Lisa Loeb, who played her hit “Stay (I Missed You)” as well as David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream.” Steve Jones of Sex Pistols then fronted the band for a pair of Pistols tunes as well as Faces’ “Stay with Me.”

Police drummer Stewart Copeland also joined in for “Message in a Bottle” before Sammy Hagar led the band on “I Can’t Drive 55,” Van Halen’s “Finish What Ya Started” and Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.” The night rounded out with Perry Farrell coming out on Jane’s Addiction’s “Been Caught Stealing,” “Had a Dad” and Kai Winding & His Orchestra’s “Time Is On My Side” before KISS guitarist Paul Stanley joined the Foos for “Detroit Rock City,” “Do You Love Me,” “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” and a finale of “Whole Lotta Love.”

Grohl and the Foo Fighters embarked on a hiatus following the conclusion of their massive Sonic Highways tour that began with Dave Grohl breaking his leg by falling off the stage and continued with stadium shows around the world. There is no word on when the band will reconvene to record the follow up to Sonic Highways.
