Steve Sybesma and Paul Peck have announced they have left their company Soundslinger, LLC, which they co-founded in order to launch Florida’s Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in 2014.

Peck, who also helped start Bonnaroo and the SuperJams at both festivals, and Sybesma, a veteran music promoter, cite “philosophical differences” in their departure from the company, which they founded with landowner Cliff Rosen. The duo will launch a new, as yet unnamed company. “We will continue to push the envelope of live music to create those indelible, once-in-a-lifetime moments of shared experience,” Peck says.

“We set out to produce a world class event in our first year at Okeechobee, and feel we exceeded that goal,” Sybesma adds. “We are sorry to leave, but wish the remaining organizers continued success with their future endeavors. I look forward to continuing my amazing business relationship with Paul to build upon what we have achieved together.”
