Last night, Bob Weir and his Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, brought together an all-star lineup of musicians to raise money for his longtime songwriting partner John Perry Barlow, who has suffered various ongoing medical issues and ensuing expenses in the past year and a half, including a heart attack in the spring of 2015.

The night featured music from Weir, who played a solo acoustic “Loose Lucy” as part of his and Lukas Nelson’s opening sets, and Weir later took on Velvet Underground’s “White Light/White Heat” with Jerry Harrison and a “house band” that included Steve Kimock, Jeff Chimenti, Robin Sylvester and Wally Ingram. The group would also cover Talking Heads’ “Take Me to the River.”

Other music from the event included Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, who was joined by Weir for “Me and Bobby McGee,” String Cheese Incident’s Michael Kang, Jason Hann and Michael Travis, who were joined by Kimock, Chimenti and Sylvester, and the Claypool Lennon Delirium, who offered up an acoustic rendition of The Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows” with Lennon emulating his father’s vocals.

The night came to a close with Weir and the house band playing the Grateful Dead’s “Cassidy,” one of many collaboration between Weir and Barlow. Watch some highlights from the night above and below, courtesy of Rod Giffen.
