The first annual Vertex Festival took place in Buena Vista, CO, this year, but the event is in jeopardy of not returning, as the Denver Post reports that Chaffee County leveed strict noise restraints on the festival on its one-year extension.

The parameters set by the county include just a one-year extension, while the festival requested three years. The county also wants to end the music earlier and is limiting noise to 85 decibels.

“Beyond this date, we are no longer able to successfully organize this festival,” Vertex director Michael Sampliner said during a commissioners meeting that reportedly cited issues with the traffic, noise and drug use by the 8,000 who attended. “Pushing forward this decision would be the same as saying no to us.”

Vertex recruited the likes of Trey Anastasio Band, Alabama Shakes, Claypool Lennon Delirium and more for their inaugural event in August.
