The Jazz Foundation held their 15th annual “A Great Night in Harlem” benefit last night at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, highlighted by a reunion show from the John Mayer Trio, who haven’t performed together since 2014.

Mayer along with Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan played a short set that included takes on well-known tunes like “Vultures” and “Gravity” as well as covers of “Everyday I Have the Blues,” “Chicken in the Kitchen” (with Robert Cray on guitar) and a finale of “Let the Good Times Roll” with Cray and Robert Randolph also joining in.

Elsewhere on the night, Dr. John was honored with the Hank Jones Award and also performed a set of New Orleans classics. McCoy Tyner received the Lifetime Achievement Award and Jon Batiste, Bruce Willis, Danny Glover and many others also appeared throughout the evening.
