Last night, violinist Joshua Bell hosted the Seasons of Cuba event at New York’s Lincoln Center. The event, which featured music from Bell, the Chamber Orchestra of Havana, Cuban singer-songwriter Carlos Varela and more, included a brand new tune from Matthews, “Here On Out.”

Matthews set rounded out the evening and began with a duo performance with Varela, with whom Matthews played in Cuba earlier this year and will join once again next weekend. The two played Varela’s “Muros y Puertas” before they were joined by The Chamber Orchestra of Havana for Samurai Cop. Matthews then false started on “Here On Out” before playing the debut through with the orchestra. A run of “Ants Marching” closed out the set, and all the event musicians joined together for a finale of the Cuban patriotic tune “Guantanamera.”
