The Avett Brothers tour stopped by The Fillmore in Detroit last night, and the band opened up the show with a tribute to late legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 82.

The Avetts came onstage and immediately took up the famous waltz tempo and chord progression of Cohen’s ubiquitous “Hallelujah,” with Seth Avett taking center stage and lead vocals for the beautiful tribute.
