After being awarded the Nobel Prize for literature, The Daily Mail is reporting that Bob Dylan will not attend the ceremony in Stockholm on December 10 to accept his award.

While communication between Dylan and the committee was at a minimum following the award, Dylan did say that he “wishes he could receive the prize personally, but other commitments make it unfortunately impossible.”

Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize on October 13 and took a while before formally acknowledging the award (he even performed in that span of time), updating his website to recognize the win and then releasing a subsequent statement saying the news left him “speechless” and adding, “I appreciate the honor so much.”
