Chris Robinson Brotherhood paid tribute to the late Leon Russell last night in Richmond, VA as their fall tour continued with a stop at The National.

To kick off their second set, the band tipped their caps to Russell with a pair of his tunes in “Stranger in a Strange Land” and “Alcatraz.”

Following Russell’s death at the age of 74, Robinson took to the band’s Facebook page to share a message of remembrance. “The master of space & time has left the planet. Long live the man under the top hat! Truly one of our biggest influences & a real American music legend! We love you Leon!”

CRB’s fall tour continues tomorrow in Philadelphia, PA.
