Today, with the release of the new Prince retrospective collection Prince 4Ever, the first new, previously unreleased Prince music since the music icon’s death has been shared. “Moonbeam Levels” was premiered during a listening party in New York and broadcast by ABC.

As Consequence of Sound notes, the song was first recorded in the early ’80s during the studio sessions for what would become Prince’s classic 1999 album, and although there have been bootlegs of the track, this is its first official release.
