New York’s Lincoln Center has confirmed that Bettye LaVette will honor Sharon Jones during their annual Winter’s Eve celebration. Jones was originally slated to appear at the holiday show, which will take place this Monday, November 28. The “Queen of Funk” passed away on Friday, November 18.

Billed as New York’s largest holiday festival, the free outdoor event will kick off at 5:30pm with the Upper West Side’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Dante Park on Broadway between 63rd and 64th streets. Broadway star Justin Guarini, members of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus and WABC-TV’s Amy Freeze, klezmer fiddler Alicia Svigals, Loston Harris Trio, Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could and Steven Bernstein‘s Universal Melody Brass Band will also participate in the Winter’s Eve Celebration. Bernstein’s band for the evening will include: Billy Martin, Marcus Rojas, Curtis Fowlkes, Frank London, Oscar Noriega, Matt Darriau and Art Baron.

As expected, The Dap-Kings have also cancelled their annual Home For the Holiday shows following Jones’ passing. The group was originally slated to host pan-denominational holiday shows in Ridgefield, CT (12/8), Brooklyn, NY (12/9) and Jersey City, NJ (12/10).
