This Thanksgiving marks the 40th anniversary of The Band’s “The Last Waltz” performance, the original group’s swansong. While many musicians will pay tribute to the pioneering Americana outfit throughout the weekend stateside, one notable celebration will take place abroad at Namsos, Norway’s NTE Arena Rock City tomorrow, November 25. The Weight Band, the ensemble comprised of latter-day Band members of Jim Weider (guitar) Randy Ciarlante (drums) as well as associates Brian Mitchell (keyboards), Albert Rodgers (bass) and Marty Grebb (keyboards, saxophone), will perform music from The Band’s historic 1976 finale. The King Harvest Horns will back The Weight Band throughout the night and other special guests are expected.

Up next, The Weight Band will perform at Phoenixville, PA’s The Colonial Theatre on December 9 and Montclair, NJ’s The Wellmont Theater on December 10.
