Next February, The Blues Foundation will host its 33rd Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, welcoming musicians from around the world to the city to compete for prizes in several categories.

The events will begin on January 31 with the International Showcase on Beale Street, with the quarter-finals the following two days. The semi-finals, along with a Youth Showcase, will take place on February 3, with the finals being held at Memphis’ Orpheum Theatre on February 4. The five-day event will also feature lectures, seminars, workshops and more.

The Blues Foundation will also honor their annual Keeping the Blues Alive Award recipients at an event on February 3. This year’s honorees are Baltimore Blues Society, Blues and Soul Records, Kathy Bolmer, Briggs Farm Blues Festival, Kyle Deibler, Greaseland Studios, Highway 99 Blues Club, Jay Miller, Jacques Morgantini, James Nagel, Porretta Soul Festival, Steve Salter, Eddie Stout, Susan Swanson, WGLT radio, Wolf Records.
