Daniel Hutchens of Bloodkin and a longtime Widespread Panic collaborator suffered a hemmorhagic stroke at his home in Athens, GA. A GoFundMe has been started in his name as the musician begins his road to recovery.

An update on Hutchens’ condition says he is “stable, comfortable, joking around and receiving great care from his doctors and nurses.” Hutchens will bow out of the current shows he had scheduled with Jerry Joseph (Joseph and Eric Martinez will still embark on the run) and the show on December 10 in Athens, GA will serve as a benefit for Hutchens and his family.

Hutchens recently released a Dave Schools-produced LP dubbed The Beautiful Vicious Circle of Life. Other musicians on the album included David Barbe, Duane Trucks, Todd Nance, Jesse Aycock and others.

Additional credits to his name include tours with Jerry Joseph, including one that was slated to kick off in December, as well as guest spots with Panic, including at Panic En La Playa in 2015. Watch “Henry Parsons Died” from that night.
