Anita Thompson, the widow of late journalism icon Hunter S. Thompson, recently announced her plans to help in the creation of clones of her husband’s personal stores of marijuana, making the strains available for purchase to his fans. Anita says she has saved the stash for “12–15 years,” NBC News reports.

“I am in the process of making the strains available to those who would like to enjoy the authentic Gonzo strains in legal states,” she writes in a Facebook post. “Although the the “drug lord” phrase is silly as it doesn’t match my personality, I am looking forward to making the authentic strains available in legal states to support the Farm and the scholarships.” Anita refers to Hunter’s Owl Farm in Colorado, where his ashes are scattered, and to the “non-traditional writer’s residence program” that will be set up in memory of Hunter with the proceeds from the marijuana sales and will be “open for select musicians.” She also has plans to use the money to open a private museum at Owl Farm.

Anita opens and closes the statement by addressing the fans of her late husband, to whom she was married in 2003, just two years before Hunter’s suicide. “Thank you for keeping Hunter’s legacy alive in your libraries and your hearts.”
