Jim James is in the midst of his solo tour in support of his recent album, Eternally Even, and the My Morning Jacket frontman welcomed a friend to the stage for the encore of his show at Seattle’s Showbox, bringing up singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile for a Bob Dylan Cover.

James’ set included several cuts from the new album, as well as his last solo effort, 2013’s Regions of Light and Sound of God, along with a cover of The Velvet Underground’s “I’m Set Free.” Carlile came up for the first encore tune, Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” and James also slipped in his New Basement Tapes Dylan co-write “Down on the Bottom” into the extra frame.

Next up for James on his West Coast swing is a slot at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre tomorrow night.
