Among the 114 feature films at this year’s Sundance Film Festival is a new Grateful Dead documentary led by director Amir Bar-Lev.

Deadline reports that Long Strange Trip will make its long-awaited debut at Sundance this year, with the film reportedly offering “never before seen footage and interviews” in an “unprecedented and unvarnised look at the life of the Dead.”

Rumors about a potential Bar-Lev production with Martin Scorsese swirled shortly before Fare Thee Well, originally to be featured as a 50th anniversary project, but delays in production held up the project. It then reportedly expanded into a four-part miniseries and was slated to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, but that all never materialized.

Sundance runs from January 19-29 in Park City, UT.
