In a new interview, Tedeschi Trucks Band guitarist Derek Trucks has revealed the details for the band’s upcoming live album and expressed his interest in inviting former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts to join the band when they play the Sunshine Music Festival.

Trucks tells Sarasota, FL’s Herald Tribune (via Live for Live Music) that the new live album will be taken from TTB’s show at The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA, in September of this year, when the band welcomed Chris Robinson to the stage for a couple encore songs, including a cover of Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere.”

“The second night in Oakland felt so good we decided to make the live album that one show,” Trucks tells the Tribune. “The film is us playing but also us on the road. I watched it a few times and feel like it’s a petty honest depiction of us. I like it.”

Trucks also continued to express his disinterest in playing an Allman Brothers Band reunion next year, but he did nod to his time with the band by saying he’d like to play the Sunshine Music Festival with Betts, noting that he associates the festival with the guitarist and that he will be contacting Betts with the invitation.
